kala escobar design

We are so excited and honored to be sponsored by the lovely Kala Escobar Design studio who designed these beautiful painted rocks for our opening day hunt. A little birdie told me that there will be some other local artisans that will be hiding rocks around the market on June 4 between 10 and 2. You are welcome to join in the fun if you like to paint and hide. The more the merrier!

Kala works mostly in paint right now, but also draws, does digital art/graphic design, sewing/embroidery , beadwork and some woodwork, and polymer clay. She also loves to work with paper (quilling, origami, paper flowers, etc) and photography! Her talent seems to be endless and we admire her work so much.

alma

A special community sponsor falls short in describing Alma Tacoma. This organization has been so generous and kind in supporting our market.

ALMA IS A PLACE FOR MUSIC, FOOD, ART, AND CULTURE IN TACOMA, a welcoming and inclusive gathering spot that channels, celebrates, and seeks to nourish the soul of this land, the people on it, the people from it, and those just passing through.

Founded in 2015, ALMA occupies a building on Fawcett Avenue in downtown Tacoma, and consists of several conjoined enterprises: a 500-person live performance venue, a recording studio, a restaurant, a cafe, a lounge, and both patio and rooftop dining and private event spaces.

Their mission is to be a conduit for art and cultural exchange that connects and uplifts the community.

“We believe in the sacredness and potential of Tacoma. We want to live in a world where arts, culture and indigenous principles drive shared prosperity and wellbeing. We embrace diverse lived experiences and change that is accessible to all. We embrace diverse lived experiences and change.”
